Full plant room strip-out and rebuild at Portchester Community School, from the old system out to the new one commissioned and running.

School plant rooms tend to get left until something fails, and the failure lands in term time. Replacing on a planned basis means the work happens in a holiday and the building comes back with heating that is not going to catch anyone out in January.

Three ageing floor-standing boilers came out. A four-boiler Ideal wall-hung cascade went in with new low-loss headers, pumps and controls, the floor sealed and marked. A cascade suits a school: it modulates down in the holidays and if one boiler needs attention the others carry the building.
