The challenge

A 545kW boiler in a hospital plant room developed a burner and gas valve fault. In a healthcare building, replacing the boiler is a capital project and a disruption; the plant needed repairing quickly and properly.

What we did

We diagnosed the fault, sourced the manufacturer burner and gas valve for the Ideal IMAX XTRA EL and replaced both, then recommissioned the boiler and recorded combustion.

The outcome

Hospital heating kept running on the existing plant, with a documented repair rather than a replacement.
